Spotlight – Lucas Socio

What’s your name and where are you from?

Lucas Socio from Sao Paulo, Brazil. 

Where are you currently living, and how did you end up there? 

I’m based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I moved here in 2023 after spending over 16 years in Vancouver, British Columbia. My family and I moved here to stay close to my wife’s family.

How did you first start in digital marketing?

I studied communications and worked on a number of magazines before fully immersing myself in the world of digital marketing. I worked in-house for an international recruitment agency and loved the marketing work. From there I decided to pursue a career in marketing agencies which has lasted more than 12 years now.

What do you do at Binary & Co? 

I’m an Account Director at Binary & Co. I work closely with our clients to identify the best marketing strategy and ensure everything is executed without any issues.

What’s one thing you’re working on right now?

I’m working with Pacific Blue Cross in order to drive more online sales for their key offerings such as travel insurance.

Day to Day

What does your daily routine look like?

I take my kids to school every morning then I spend some time getting my work station ready for the day. After working until about 4 pm, I take some time to go for a run or the gym. Then it’s family time.

What do you think is unique about working for Binary & Co?

I love the flexibility and the people I work with. The team brings a strong analytical background while staying creative.

How do you spend your time when you are not working?

Mostly hanging out with the family and exploring the activities in the city and local hikes. I also spend a lot of time running and exercising with friends.

The Other Side

What are you binge-watching or reading right now?

I have been reading the Wild Robot book series with my son and it’s been entertaining. When it comes to shows I have been catching up on Tour de France Unchained on Netflix.

What’s the one thing on your bucket list?

Somehow I have never visited Europe and I would love to spend some time in Italy and run the Berlin marathon.
